The Face Shop Chia Seed Sebum Control Moisture Water & Cream Sampler Review

Chia seeds are one of the most nutritious plant-based foods. It's not just make us healthy. Since it's packed with loads of nutrients that are good for our skin, The Face Shop incorporated the benefits of chia seeds to several of their beauty products thus the Chia Seed line.

The Chia Seed line is divided into 2 types of sets: sebum control (for oily skin) and another for dry skin. This line uses 100% chia seed water which is extracted within 24 hours via Fresh method instead of water. Today, we will have a look at 2 products from its sebum control line.

First, we will talk about the Chia Seed Sebum Control Water. This is the toner.  It claims to treat excess sebum while providing 100% moisture to the skin. It is ethanol-free and contains persimmon extracts to care for sebum and pores. It is clear and runny so I wasn't able to take a good photo of it. It has a fresh scent. It cleanses skin deeply ans has no sticky after feel unlike some toners I have tested. To use: apply moderate amount on a cotton pad after cleansing and gently wipe skin. Pat excess amount on skin for better absorption.

Next up is the Sebum Control Moisture Cream. This replenishes moisture while preventing excess sebum. It has a gel like consistency and is easily absorbed by the skin without the sticky feel. It doesn't have an overempowering scent to it.

I find the Chia Seed (sebum control) line okay. It is light on skin. Perfect for people with oily skin yet want a boost of moisture. This is ideal for this kind of weather we're having. It didn't cause me any breakouts but it didn't control sebum production that much. About repurchasing a regular sized product. Maybe not. I still prefer Innisfree. This line is readily available in any Face Shop stores. The toner costs around 900+ and the cream 1000+. Kinda pricey. It is better buying online. Just look for sellers selling any of these at a reasonable price. My verdict for these samplers....a 3.5 out of 5.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Scrub Foam Review

Hello dearies! I'm back after 2 weeks of lazy sickness. Today I will review one of the products included in Innisfree's Jeju Volcanic line- Jeju Volcanic Pore Scrub Foam. This scrub foam claims to remove dirt from inside the pores and dead skin cells with volcanic clusters in 1-2 uses per week.

The packaging is made of a sturdy recycled plastic tube with 150ml contents inside. The actual product is colored ligh brown and has some volcanic scoria clusters. It has tiny beads that you can feel once you apply the product. The scrub beads melt easily and is not abrasive. It turns into a foamy lather when mixed with water. It has a light fresh scent that I like. The whole jeju volcanic line smells the same. I seldom use this product because I prefer a more abrasive scrub hehehe. This product doesn't dry skin and is mild. It never caused my skin to have bumps or whiteheads. Anyway, I might use this as a substitute for my Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam when it runs out since it isn't abrasive at all.

PROS:
- nice fresh scent
- mild
- doesn't cause breakouts
- a little amount goes a long way
- perfect for oily skin

CONS:
- it didn't feel like my skin was exfoliated after use
- little sebum control
- blackheads are not reduced
- the scrub particles melt easily so it didn't reach other areas of my face
- can be purchased online (in the Phils.)

Overall, I am quite disappointed in this product. I love Innisfree especially its Jeju Volcanic line but I have to make this an exemption to that. It failed to meet my expectations. I have used other face scrubs in the past and this is the only one that I didn't feel any effect after scrubbing my face. Repurchase? No. I give this product a 3 out of 5.

Skinfood Black Pomegranate Premium Kit Review

It is another Skinfood review day my dear readers! Not to mention another way overdue product review. The product I will review today is one of the 2 lines from Skinfood that I love...the black pomegrante line. This line focuses on anti-aging and a little on brightening the skin.

Months ago, I did a review about the Black Pomegranate Emulsion and since I found it effective, I always wanted to have a regular sized of that or a set if budget permits. Anyway, last December, I was sent 2 boxes of this kit by one online seller that wanted to be anonymous hahaha. When I opened the package I was so happy because my wish came true.

The Black Pomegranate Premium Kit consists of 4 products from the line: a 10ml toner and emulsion, a 5mg cream, and 8ml voluming serum. We use this set in this order: toner > voluming serum> emulsion> cream. I used these at night time because it is moisturizing. They all have this mild fruity scent.

First let me talk about the toner and emulsion. Both contains 10ml of product. The toner is watery in consistency while the emulsion is a bit thick and white. The toner claims to give soft and supple skin. Apply it on skin using a cotton pad/ball and pat skin for better absorption. The emulsion claims to make skin soft and plump. IMO, there is nothig too special about the toner. It cleanses skin gently and that's it. I can always use my Wonder Pore toner as an alternative. It is cheaper compared to this toner anyway. The emulsion gave me instant soft and plump skin the next day. That's the reason why I fell in love with this line. I saw and felt the difference.

The voluming serum is contained in a cute bottle with pump. It is a bit thick in consistency but not as thick as the emulsion. I am not sure if the sample serum has the powder content like its big bottle counterpart. This serum claims to hydrate, illuminate and plump the skin. You need to wait a little for the skin to absorb it before applying the emulsion.

The last one is the cream. It is stored in a tiny little plastic jar. The opening is big enough for a finger to fit in. It has a thick consistency and it is very oily for my skin so I only use this at night and use only a little amount. This cream claims to give one a luminous and resilient skin and has anti-wrinkle effect. This cream is perfect for dry skin. It gives you a boost of moisture while you sleep.

PROS:
- live up to its claims
- you can see and feel the effects
- divine fruity scent
- a little amount goes a long way
- nice packaging (both sample and regular sizes)
- non-irritating
- did not cause me any breakouts

CONS:
- (regular size) is pricey
- the kit is hard to find
- the cream is not recommended for oily skin

Overall, I would recommend this line for mature or dry skin. This is also suitable for people looking for a moisture boost at night. I am sad that I wasn't able to show you some before and after pictures of my skin. I was really convinced by this product's effectiveness. It made my skin look and feel soft and plump. I saw significant changes with my skin's texture and glow. Each product included in this line costs more than a thousand each. (Like I always say) Skinfood is pricey. You can save 200-300 bucks when you purchase them online. The best one to have on this line is the emulsion. A bottle can last for months because you don't need much to cover your face and/or neck. If I were to choose this line versus anti-aging products readily available in stores, I would still choose this. The price may be a bit same so I would rather go with something that really works fast. I give this premium kit a 5 out of 5!!!!!

Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask Review

Blackheads and visible pores are a big problem to a lot of people especially to us ladies. It is hard to find a product that really works to fight those two. I have found a good wash-off mask that worked for me. It is Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask.

Skinfood's Egg White Pore Mask claims to penetrate deeply into pores to remove pore clogging oil. It contains albumin that helps firm the skin and reduce pore size. This product is stored in a sturdy plastic tub and contains 100g of product. Ingredients and description about it is written both in English and Hangul. The product's consistency is comparable to a whipped cream so i use a pack brush to apply it. It has a scent same as the Rice Wash-off Mask.

I lost my sd card so I don't have before and after pictures anymore 😣. I first experimented with this mask on my husband's face because he's got more blackheads and bigger pores than me. I applied it on his face for 1 week and it effectively reduced his pores and the big blackheads on his nose were gone. So this mask worked for him though he still preferred the Black Sugar mask.

PROS:
- reduces pore size and blackheads
- a little amount goes a long way
- safe for sensitive skin
- reduces oil production
- easy to remove
- dries easily

CONS:
- a bit pricey when purchased at a Skinfood shop (PhP 615)
- doesn't remove small blackheads
- scent

Overall, this mask is suitable for any skin type. It is effective and lives up to its claims. It doesn't dry skin at all so people with dry skin type will surely benefit from this mask as well. I will give this wonderful mask a 4.5 out of 5 rating!!!

Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack (Blueberry)

Good day everyone! Koreans definitely do not stop with just their 5-step skin care routine. They added sleeping pack to the routine. A sleeping pack can be the last step of the very long routine or the next and final step after applying toner. Today, I will review a sleeping pack from Holika Holika. This is the first sleeping pack I ever bought.

Holika Holika's Honey Sleeping Pack is available in 3 variants: Blueberry, Acerola, & Canola. I bought the blueberry variant because it is the only one available at that time. It costs P475 a jar. This particular variant contains 20% blueberry extracts and 20% honey. It claims to firm skin and provide it with essential nutrients. It claims to make skin soft and smooth everytime you wake up. It is contained in a glass jar shaped like a honey jar (which I find so cute) with a plastic cap. It does not have spatula so make sure you have an improvised one or make sure your hands are clean prior to application of the product. It smells like honey. Very sweet smelling stuff. It has a gel like texture that turns into a creamy one once you massage it in your face. It gets absorbed by the skin in about 2-3 minutes. I don't find it sticky at all so I have no worries about having it in my face before I go to bed. I wake up with a smooth and soft skin everytime, like what the product claims. It also helps in gradually lightening pimple scars when used with other products like serums. I use this after toner and my vitamin c serum every night. It did not lessen the fine lines near my eye area that much but I noticed the improvement on my skin texture. It also helped in healing small pimples because of the honey content of the product.

PROS:
- makes skin soft and smooth
- a jar will last long even with nightly use
- affordable
- nice scent
- not sticky
- does not cause breakouts
- absorbs easily
- gradually brightens skin

CONS:
- glass jar (may break)
- no spatula included
- does not help much in firming fine lines

I am a fan of this product and will repurchase again. I hope Holika Holika will continue producing this sleeping mask for a long time. Who does not want to wake up with soft and smooth skin right? You can skip using other skin care products at night after cleansing and toning. This product (regardless of variant) is highly recommended for people in their 20's above. I give this darling a 5 out of 5!!!!

Etude Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream Review #1

   Hi everyone!

It's the time of the week for another review. I'm kinda lazy nowadays so I decided to have 1-2 reviews per week though I still got tons of stuff to review. Anyway, let me start with this sleeping mask from Etude that I purchased during the holidays, Etude's Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream (mouthful for a name AGAIN). This will be part one because I have 2 variants here and I haven't used the other one yet. The one I will review is the Clear and Moist variant which has green tea as the main ingredient. This variant is for oily/troubled skin. This product is a sleeping mask. This is meant to be the last step in one's night beauty routine.

This sleeping mask is available in 8 variants and caters to different skin types and needs. I chose the Clear & Moist variant first because I got heaps of pimples and whiteheads during the holiday season. According to the packet, it contains green tea extract, lavender, chamomile, and mint. It claims to soothe and purify skin overnight for a clear, moonlight-like complexion.

Directions on how to use the product.
Looks like a cute spoon huh?
The carton pack with Korean and English details and instructions written on it.

The product looks like an egg yolk when it has not been blended yet so cute. It has a gel part and cream part which you need to blend with the upper part of the spoon. The product smells like green tea which I find very relaxing. I have consumed all of it already and these pictures were taken after I opened the product. Anyway, it has a mid-creamy consistency since it has jelly part prior to blending. It says on the instructions to consume the product immediately on the face and neck. Since I never follow instructions 100%, I used it for like 4 nights hihihi. I placed it inside the ref with clingwrap. I prefer using it cold because it is more relaxing. I rinse the product off with lukewarm water in the morning and end up with soft skin and smaller pimples.

PROS:
- looks so cute
- affordable (PhP 88 each)
- many variants to choose from
- makes skin soft the next day
- helps in fighting or minimizing pimples
- not sticky
- pleasant scent

CONS:
- green tea variant is not very moisturizing
- small

Overall, I love this product because it helped me with my pimples. I just hope that it could help in reducing pimple scars as well but I need another variant for that. I guess everyone wants to wake up with soft skin right? So i guess using this product is the one you are looking for. I give this baby a 5 out of 5!

Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin Emulsion Review

Many of us, both men and women struggle with pimples, acne and skin irritation. Oftentimes, it is a trial-and-error thing to look for a product or product line that really works. Over the holidays, I had a problem dealing with on and off pimples. Yeah it is weird because instead of worrying about dryness due to the weather, it was pimples that I had.

I happened to drop by a Skinfood store at Trinoma last month to check out their sale items. Unfortunately, those on sale were products that were expensive and some were products I am not interested with. Also the sales assistant was not helpful and accomodating at all. She just followed me everywhere I go. I said to myself that that would be the first and last time that I will go inside that store. Anyway, back to the topic, I checked out 2 lines that were suitable for me and it just so happened that I had redness and pimples on my face I want to get rid of so I decided to purchase the Parsley and Mandarin emulsion. This emulsion is smooth-textured that provides soothing relief from skin irritations. The Parsley & Mandarin line is for trouble care. Korean use the term "trouble" instead of pimples or acne.

This emulsion is contained in a glass bottle with 160ml of product inside. It is quite big and fragile. Therefore, not a travel-friendly one. The SA told me that a bottle would last up to 6 months with day and night use. There's this plastic lid you need to remove on top that served as its freshness seal. You just need a small portion to cover the entire face and/or neck. The product is watery but not runny in consistency. It is very light and refreshing when applied. Just apply a moderate amount so your face won't feel sticky. The product gets easily absorbed by the skin which is very good. You won't feel like there is something on your face when you apply the right amount. The smell....I don't like it. It's like topical meds from my dermatologist. Smells like parsley perhaps.

I wasn't able to have a before and after pictures taken so I will just describe it. I had a few scattered pimples on my chin and left cheek and some redness. After 3 days (and nights) of use, my pimples were dried up. Some got smaller the next day and the redness gone overnight. I also noticed that there was moderate sebum production on my t-zone which was very very good. I didn't experience any irritation at all because not only that this product's for troubled skin but it'a also good for sensitive skin.

PROS:
-mild
-effective in controlling pimples and skin irritations
-a little sebum control (which is a bonus)
-a bottle can last for months

CONS:
-glass bottle
-not travel-friendly
-the scent

Overall, this emulsion from Skinfood is perfect for both men and women with pimples/acne and some skin irritations and at the same time with sensitive skin. This is good for day and night use. The verdict, a 4.5 out of 5!!!!

Etude Every Month Cleansing Foam #2 Review

Are you in search for a facial wash that really suits your skintype and skincare needs? Are you one of those people who can't stick to one facial wash to use til the last drop? Well, if your answer is a big YES, look no further because Etude House has a wide variety of facial wash and cleanser that meets every person's skincare needs. One of their facial skincare line that offers a WIDE selection of facial wash if their Every Month Cleansing Foam line.

The Every Month Cleansing Foam line consists of 12 different cleansing foams. Each of the 12 has its own claims and each is suitable for a particular skin type or need. They have different consistencies. Some are cream foam type and some are gel foam. Their scents also vary. Each of the 12 has its own particular special ingredient. The one I have is #2 which contains Pomegranate and Berry and is meant for firming skin and making it elastic.

Each tube consists of 100 ml of product and costs PhP198. The manufacturing date is stamped at the top part of the tube. There are English and Korean details printed at the back. The ingredients are printed in a sticker which I already removed. It has a seal inside so you'll know it is new and unused. This particular variant is gel foam type and smells fruity but like my daughter's shampoo. Kinda tolerable for me. A tiny drop like the one on the picture can cover my entire face and neck because it turns into a rich lather. Just make sure to place the cap very well so it won't spill. It is upside down when you place it in the shelf.

Now let's see how well it performed. Above, I have a washable mascara, Skinfood Tint Gloss, and Etude Rosy Tint on my hand. The two tints are the long lasting ones. As you can see the products does not form into a bubble foam but has a rich lather. The 3 were hard to remove by just rubbing it. After rinsing, the mascara was complety removed but traces of lip tints were still there. My hand felt very soft afterwards. The same result I get every time I wash my face. By the way, I use this as my night time cleanser. I use Innisfree during daytime foer sebum control.

PROS:
- affordable
- makes skin soft
- rich lather
- mild
- many variants
- did not cause me any breakout
- pleasant smell
- does not dry skin

CONS:
- does not completely remove makeup
- no sebum control (this variant)
- product consistency (I prefer cream foam)
- may spill

This particular variant is suitable for mature or dry skin. This is also good for people with sensitive skin. I like this line because there are so many to choose from. You can have like 1 variant for daytime and 1 for night time. I just won't bother trying like 2 at a time because I have 2 facial foams already. Though it can't completely remove makeup that it still fine with me because I seldom wear makeup. Also there's my reliable Wonder Pore toner to finish the job. The score for this cutie is a 4 out of 5!!!

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack Review

A pleasant Tuesday dearies! Today I will review one product from Innisfree that's been like a necessesity for me who's been struggling with blackheads- the Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack. Innisfree's nose pack has 2 variants, the nose strip and the liquid form that comes in a tube. I was eyeing to buy this nose pack for quite sometime and I happened to purchase my supply on ebay because it was on sale. I bought this for PhP 100 a box so I bought 2 boxes right away.

This nose pack comes in 6 pieces per box. It is also sold per piece. The cardboard box is made from recycled paper and has Korean and English instructions printed on the back. This product treats pores, removing blackheads and impurities. It can be used on the nose, forehead, and chin but I only use it on my nose. As you can see the shape of the strip is different from other nose strips. To use: you first need to wash your face thoroughly and towel dry. Wet the area where you will stick the strip. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and carefully remove it from the side. Apply toner afterwards to close the pores. I find this product better than other nose strips I have tried because it adheres to my skin very well.

I have been using pore/nose strips since I was in college and regardless of the brand, the results would depend on the "severity" and quantity of blackheads I have on my nose. Since I am having facials every month, there are less big blackheads. Also not all blackheads are removed by using this. There are still small ones which can only be removed by extracting.

PROS:
- affordable
- adheres well on skin
- versatile

CONS:
- removes average amount of blackheads
- not recommended for sensitive skin
- sold online

Overall, this product from Innisfree performed better than the ones I used to try. I opt to use it when I don't have time to extract my blackheads using an extractor. If you happen to use a better nose strip that gets the job done please write your suggestions on the comment box below. I will be more than happy to hear from you.

Innisfree Canola Honey Pack & Cream Mini-Review

How was your weekend guys? I guess some of you my dear readers have already received their Christmas bonuses last week and some are done with their shopping *wink*. I am done with mine last weekend and it feels like Christmas already.

Let's start the week with a mini-review of a pack/cream from one of my favorite Korean skincare brand Innisfree. Today's spotlight is on Innisfree Canola Honey Pack and Cream. Another mouthful for a product name right? This sampler was sent to me as a freebie from a Korean ebay seller, behappywithme. She's one of the top sellers on ebay.

The sachet contains only 1ml of product. Which can last for 2-3 days (nightly use). As always and expected, the back part of the sachet has product details written in Hangul/Korean. This product helps create a moisture barrier for hydrated skin. Its main ingredient, Canola Honey, is rich in flavonoids and protein for firm and elastic skin. Since this is a product meant for skin hydration, I only consumed the pack at night. Before opening the sachet, I thought it was cream-like as the name implied but it was a sticky thick gel...like honey only clear. The scent was like honey. A tiny drop (like the one above) was enough to cover my entire face. And a rice grain size for my neck. I used it after washing and toning. Once applied, the product does feel really sticky but after massaging my face and neck it felt like I applied a cream instead of a gooey substance. It felt light once the product was absorbed by my skin. The next day my skin felt hydrated and the little bumps on my chin were gone.

Overall, this product is very suitable for women in their 30's-above for skin hydration. People with dry skin will benefit much from this product as well. As to people like me with oily skin, may opt not use this as this will produce more oil especially when used during daytime. A big no no. But a tiny amount during your nightly beauty regimen can help you have a moisturized skin when you wake up the next day. So therefore very optional for us.

PROS:
- does its claims
- works as a cream and as a sleeping pack
- mild
- absorbs quickly
- very natural scent
- a tiny amount is needed

CONS:
- sticky when applied
- may not be suitable for oily skin
- produces more oil on face

Though I belong to the oily skin group, I still like this product. Though I have no plans of purchasing a tub. There are so many products out there that does the same but for a cheaper price. I give this honey a 4 out of 5!

Innisfree Green Persimmon Pore Dual Kit Review

Are you one of the many struggling with huge pores? If you are, I officially welcome you to the club! Today I will review a mini kit from Innisfree that targets pores and sebum. It is the Green Persimmon Pore Dual Kit. This kit was one of the many goodies I received from @hellogorgeous17 a month ago. As you already know, skincare products targetting pore and sebum control are my main collection.

So what's the story behind green persimmons? Unriped persimmons are harvested during summer while they are still green. Though they taste bitter, they contain high levels of tannin that tightens pores. This line from Innisfree helps manage aggravated pores and controls the balance between oil and moisture for skin.

The pore dual kit consists of 5ml toner and essence which are neatly packed in this earth-friendly box. I used these two during daytime for about 3 days for the toner and almost 2 weeks for the essence. According to their shopping site, the pore care toner is ethanol-free and helps prevent skin infection from excessive sebum and remove dead skin cells that cause skin trouble (pimple or acne). It also keeps the skin in healthy condition of ph 5.5. The essence is free from 6 harmful ingredients: paraben, synthetic colorants, mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients, artificial fragrances, and imidazolidinyl urea. This essence claims to control sebum, tighten pores, promote skin elasticity, enhance moisture level of skin, and prevent disassembling of collagen.

This particular line's got a lot of claims right? Now the question is did it live up to its claims? The kit includes 2 small bottles so my views are based from my observations during the short span of time I have used it. To begin with, the two products smells citrusy. The toner cleans the skin very well and does not have a sticky after-feel like other korean toners I have tried. It is also mild and I haven't had any irritation nor redness. Sebum control was not "met" by this toner. No pore reduction as well. Disappointing. I would prefer sticking to my Wonder Pore toner. The regular sized bottle is pricey for a 200ml. The essence reduced sebum production a bit but my pore size remained the same. It is not sticky. It is very light to wear during daytime, alone or under makeup. It is also mild on skin. It is also non-drying. It kept my skin balanced. The regular size of this essence is pricey for more than a thousand bucks.

After using the kit, I think there is no need for me to purchase the regular sized ones. Aside from the fact that it is pricey, it did not help in minimizing pores which is the main target of this line. The essence, though it helps with balancing oil and moisture of the skin, just thinking of the price makes me instantly choose other products with the same claims. Comparing between the Green Persimmon and Jeju Volcanic line of Innisfree, I prefer the Jeju Volcanic line. The verdict... 3 out of 5!

Etude Tea Tree Mask Review

I am not a fan of sheet mask. As you have seen and read on my previous entries, I'm into wash-off type of masks because I can use them repeatedly for a long duration of time compared to sheet type. Today I will share my views about Etude's Tea Tree Mask.

I have only used sheet masks from Etude. I never purchase one. I got them as freebies from purchases. Prior to this mask I will review, I have tried the Pomegranate and White Pearl variants and that was 3 years ago. I have some variants here courtesy of my favorite online sellers. Today's featured product came from Margarita Shop. I just love that simple message personally written by Ms. Maryan, the shop's owner. She always include a personal thank you note on every purchase I make and this time it was written on the mask package.

Etude's sheet masks have changed its packaging. The 2 pictures above are its latest packaging. Each variant is meant for a particular skin type or skin concern.

The tea tree mask contains tea tree extracts that claim to provide a fresh and clean complexion because of its soothing properties. The packaging is neat and cute. The back's got korean and english printed details about the product. The manufacturing date's stamped at the bottom part. It is to be used within 24 months from the manufacturing date. The mask smells like tea. I simply love it. It is not overwhelming ang I find it relaxing. The actual sheet is dripping wet. That's one thing I hate about using sheet masks. It is dripping and you cannot do anything but lie down and relax. I'm into multi-tasking so I had no freakin' choice during the time I wore this mask. I removed the excess liquid off it before I removed it from the packaging. According to the packaging, to use this mask, you need to apply toner after cleansing and place the mask to fit eye and lip area. Remove the mask after 10-15 minutes and lightly massage remaining solution into skin with hands. When I used this mask I waited until the exposed part of the mask was almost dry. I wanted the solution to fully sink into my skin before removing it. After removing the mask, I massaged the remaining solution in my face and neck. I forgot to mention, I chose to use the tea tree variant at that time because I had 2 pesky pimples on my right cheek. The next day, I woke up with less oil on my face and my pores aren't that huge AND my pimples have subsided. I swear! I slept with 2 big pimples and woke up with 2 red dots. It was magic!

PROS:
- has a nice scent
- mild
- affordable (PhP 58 a pack)
- effective in controlling pimples
- soothing and relaxing
- does not cause breakout

CONS:
- excessive solution
- drips
- a bit sticky after the mask has been removed

The Tea Tree mask is suitable for people with oily/combination skin and those with acne or pimples. I highly recommend this one if you want instant relief and remedy. A whopping 5 out of 5 for this precious thing!!!

Etude Moistfull Super Collagen Cream Mini-Review

Hi everyone! I am back with a sampler for my mini-review. Our spotlight is on Etude House' s Moistfull Super Collagen Cream. I got this sampler from my last set of purchase from @hellogorgeous17 from Instagram. According to the website, this is a cream that contains 63% super collagen, spreading gently but thoroughly onto skin for smooth and elastic skin.

I have used this sampler for 4 nights. I applied it on both face and neck. The packet's got the same color as the normal sized tub. The Moistfull Collagen line has a lot of products- toner/skin, emulsion, cream to name a few. I haven't tried any other product from the line. This sample was the first one.

The cream has a very light texture and scent. The scent fades as you massage the cream. I like the light texture of this cream. It does not feel heavy and absorbs easily. I applied a few dots on my face and neck and spread it outwards. I rinsed it out the next morning. The good thing I noticed whenever I rinse it out in the morning was how soft my skin felt even if I use a facial wash. It did not trigger my face to produce more oil during daytime but this will be a good cream for people with dry skin. For oily skin, I would suggest a dot size amount at night after toner. This is a good product to try out this cold season or if you are living in a winter wonderland.

PROS:
- a little goes a long way
- moisturizing
- makes skin soft
- has a subtle scent
- light texture
- not sticky

CONS:
- may be too moisturizing for oily skin
- did break me out a little
- a bit pricey (regular size)

This product is good for people with normal to dry skin. It did caused breakout in my case maybe because it is not for my skin type. But I can say it is mild because I never had redness nor itchiness. If it did not caused any breakouts I will purchase the regular size. The verdict: 3.5 out of 5!!!

Sample Review: Skinfood Premium Tomato Line

I have quite a number of sample products and mini kits here so I decided to do a mini review after I finish using each one of them. A mini review because they are only samples and they may or may have instant or noticeable effects when and while using them. They are also skin care product samples and not make up samples. Make up samples can have an in-depth review compared to skin care samples.

I receive a number of samplers with each purchase I make especially online purchases because online sellers are more generous (unconditionally generous IMO) unlike actual stores. But I would have to make an exemption when referring to actual shop this time...the Skinfood kiosk at Wellworth Fairview Terraces. The saleslady assigned there was friendly and generous and not to mention, knows a lot about each product she's selling. I just forgot to ask her name. Anyway, she gave me quite a number of samples and the product I will review today's one of the few she gave- Skinfood's Premium Tomato Line. It includes a toner, essence, emulsion, and cream (used in that order).

The Premium Tomato line targets skin whitening. Its main ingredients are tomato extract and vitamin C derivative. The picture above is how the actual sizes looks like. This line also includes a milky face pack (wash-off mask) and a sleeping mask. Those 2 are add-ons to the basic inclusions. Each product has different tomato extract content. The toner has 10%, essence has 30%, emulsion and cream has 20%.

The samples I got does not have anything written in English except the name of the product so I had to rely on Skinfood's website for details. The toner included was good for single use but all I can say is that it is effective in removing dirt on my face that I have accumulated the whole day. The amount was so few I was not able to detect if there was any scent present. The only thing I did not like was face felt sticky. The essence has a watery consistency and absorbs quickly. The emulsion was translucent white and a bit thick compared to the essence. The cream was white and thick but glided on skin easily and smoothly. The essence, emulsion, and cream has the same divine scent as the black pomegranate emulsion but only lighter but I like it. The quantity of the product shown on the pictures are the actual quantity I used to cover my entire face. So a little goes a long way don't you think? I also applied a little amount on my neck.

I used the samples before bedtime because they felt heavy on the skin and they have no oil control claims. They didn't get absorbed easily and felt sticky unlike the other (usual) night time products I use. The good thing about this line was I woke up with fresh and soft skin. After a few nights of using this, I noticed my skin became brighter, softer, fresher, and the pimple marks slightly improved. I also noticed how soft my skin was after rinsing it in the morning using a facial foam. I have not experienced such soft skin sensation with other overnight products I have used. I cannot attest the overall whitening effect though because I only used samples and I was born with a yellowish white complexion so I am not much into whitening facial skin care stuff.

I was impressed with the samples from this line. But since I am not into whitening products for my face, I have no plans of purchasing the big ones. The normal sizes are expensive. I guess people looking for whitening products but are on a budget will stay away from these. Well, Skinfood is expensive here and that's the harsh fact we have to accept. My score for this samples? 4 out of 5!
