Etude Beauty Shot Face Blur Review

From BB Creams to CC Creams to Face Cushions, I can say that Korea is an innovator when it comes to make up product trends and no matter how other countries immitate them (make up), nothing beats the original. Face blurring make up is now the latest trend in Korea. They vary from primers to face powders. One of the brands that offer such products is Etude House and this blurring primer is one of their sought-after product to date. It is the Beauty Shot Face Blur (or just Face Blur).

The Face Blur is a lightweight cream that provides multi-blurring effects for instantly refined and smooth skin. It has 3 claims: smoothened skin, minimized pores and brightened skin. Later we will find out if it can live up to its claims.

The product comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with pump which dispenses a modest amount of liquid. The liquid is pinkish beige and is a bit creamy in texture. It has a light floral scent. It costs PhP 898 when purchased at Etude House but fortunately I was able to purchase it at a more affordable price (the cheapest one online) at Margarita Shop, one of my favorite online stores.

Here is my before and after picture with the Face Blur on one side of my face. As you can see I have dark spots (pimple scars) and huge pores. After applying a decent amount of the product, you can notice that it brightened my skin (100% no photoshop). It's like I applied CC cream on my face. The dark spots on my nose have disappeared and my pores were barely visible. I have used this product alone with my ever-reliable 3W Clinic powder and it gave me awesome results. With BB cream after, it made the BB cream adhere better. Etude recommends using this with their Precious Mineral Any Cushion (but it is expensive so I'll stick to my BB cream).

PROS:
- affordable (online)
- lived up to its claims
- has SPF 15
- doesn't cause breakouts
- doesn't make oily skin oilier
- conceals pores
- brightens skin in an instant
- makes makeup last longer
- 2 to 3 pumps is enough to cover the entire face
- can be used alone or as a primer

CONS:
- the box does not have a seal so it can be easily tampered

Overall, Etude's Face Blur is one heck of a product. No wonder it is a hit in Korea as well as in our country. You get 3 benefits in one product and it is really worth buying. Of all the primers I have in my stash, this one is definitely my favorite. I give this awesome primer a 5 out of 5!!!!

Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Pore Cover Mousse Starter Review

Hi again! I am so in the mood today so I decided to make 2 reviews. I will share my views about this primer from Holika Holika- the Sweet Cotton Pore Cover Mousse Starter. Whew! What a long name for a product. I got this as a prize from their Sweet Cotton line contest last Christmas. The Sweet Cotton line targets oil control. It's comprised of a primer, bb cream, pore cover base, and loose/pressed powders.

This particular product is the first step after skin care if you will be using the entire range because they also have the pore cover which is like another primer prior to applying BB cream. This line contains the following and its benefits: 1) sugar extracted contents which moisturizes skin; 2) cotton extracted content which controls oil level; 3) lotus water which minimizes pores; and 4) wild flower extracted content which protects skin from pollution from the environment. This primer has a sweet candy scent.

This product is like your typical mousse. It is stored in a tin can with pump. One good thing about the pump is that the amount of mousse can be controlled. You just press the pump slowly and surely. To use: after your basic skin care routine, shake the can 2-3 times and dispense a tiny amount (such as the one pictured above) and spread evenly on your face and/or neck. Take note that you need to apply only a little amount if you don't want your face to feel sticky and greasy.

Here now is my before and after picture. Please take note that I NEVER used photoshop on this picture. Look how smooth and pore-free my skin looks like. It's like my after picture's been photoshopped right? I myself was amazed with the result on this picture. I did not use any bb cream nor face powder. Just the primer alone. This primer did a great job!

PROS:
- has SPF 36 PA+++
- conceals pores
- makes skin appear instantly smooth and almost flawless
- balances skin tone after application
- sweet scent

CONS:
- can be greasy when applied excessively
- not much oil control
- small for PhP 655 a bottle

I like this product a lot. It is a new concept for a primer. I guess this will be a permanent member of my makeup arsenal. I plan to try the Pore Cover Base when I drop by Holika Holika soon. I recommend this product for ladies who needs an effective primer. This is not just perfect for oily skin but for normal and dry ones as well. I find this as a great replacement for CC cream because it balances my skintone better than my CC cream. Despite of its flaws I would still give this product a 5 out 5 for its awesomeness!!!!

Etude House Face Conditioning Cream (Light) Review

You may (have already) notice that things I am reviewing are products that may be existing on shelves for quite some time now. Well, I agree that they are and the reason why it is only now that you are reading a review about it is because I just started blogging after years of dreaming of having my own blog site. So much for that crappy defensive speech let's get this thing started shall we?

Today let's have a look at one of my favorite stuff from Etude House-the Face Conditioning Cream (light variant). I have 2 tubes because I am not sure if Etude Philippines sells this big tube (or is it just at SM Fairview that's always out of stock). I got these babies from margaritashop_korea from Instagram. She offers great deals on Etude stuff like BB/CC creams etc. This product, according to the package, is a makeup boosting cream a.k.a primer. It has SPF25 and claims to whitens, reduce wrinkles, balance skin. I have the LIGHT variant which is meant for oily/combination skin. To be honest, I use this cream not really as a primer but as a day cream because it has sunscreen and it is light on the skin. It also cuts down oil/sebum production on my face with or without BB cream and makeup. I use it on my face and neck daily after toner. When there's a need for me to go out and wear makeup I use it prior to my BB cream (I use Etude House Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream W13). These 2 are the best partners-in-crime because I don't have to retouch much using a powder. It produces this healthy dewy glow when a little oil starts to say hi on my nose and forehead. Sometimes I just use a blotting paper to do the job. I also hate going to the ladies room and wait for those vain girls to finish doing their thing in front of the mirror. Blah. Blah.Blah. You can also use this plus your trusted pressed/loose powder for your lazy days or if you are just gifted with a goddess-like skin.

Here's a peek of my beloved Etude House Face Conditioning Cream....

It comes in a pearly white box. The tube is plain white but very girly IMO.
The "english side" of the box.
The "hangul side" of the box.
The manufacturing date stamped at the top of the tube. This cream should be used 12mos after opening.
The tube is sealed with a foil for "guaranteed freshness".
The content is a bit pearly white. It is more watery than oily which I love. It has a mild floral scent.
My left bare hand and right hand with the cream. Notice how shiny my right hand is? It is even toned and the texture's smoother.

PROS:
-75g of product goes a long way
-multi-function
-use it alone or with your powder or as a primer
-keeps oil at bay
-light variant is suitable for oily/combination skin
-blue variant is suitable for normal/dry skin
-sensitive skin friendly
-you don't have to use a lot to benefit from it
-reasonably priced (if you find a store which sells this for P600+)

CONS:
-pricey for P798 at Etude House
-you may spill some of the product if you squeeze the tube carelessly
-a bit icky during super hot days (use sparingly and with a powder on top)
-I don't like the scent

So what do you think of this baby? Pretty sweet right? If you are looking for a cream which will benefit you whether you just want to feel pretty everyday or prettier when wearing makeup this is the one you need. A 5 out of 5 for the Wingedbitch!

P.S. My next entries are Innisfree goodies. Lee Min Ho and Yoona fans...those entries will be for you. XOXO wb
